Record Numbers Pound the Ground for the Kids

Record numbers took part in the fourth annual Pound the Ground for the Kids 5K Sunday, February 21 inside the caves in the Space Center Executive Park. 260 teachers, students, staff and community members took part in the wonderful event. Sponsored by the Independence Council PTA and several local businesses, proceeds from the Pound the Ground for the Kids 5K go directly to ISD PTAs. PTAs provide students with programs and activities like assemblies, field trips and other hands-on, interactive experiences. Thank you to everyone who participated!
