More than 250 ISD Students Help Spruce Up Independence
Posted June 6, 2017
More than 250 ISD high school students spent part of a summer Saturday cleaning up Independence. The students joined more than 150 other volunteers in the first-ever city cleanup day on June 3. Students dedicated their Saturday morning to work alongside City of Independence staff, members of the Chamber of Commerce and community volunteers to pick up trash. Student volunteer groups from Truman, William Chrisman and Van Horn included members of STUCO, debate, mock trial, volleyball, track, cross country, football, cheerleading, dance, basketball, baseball and softball. The students were proud to represent their respective schools and the Independence School District and to give back to our community.
