ISD Shows Significant Academic Growth
The Independence School District is proud to announce significant growth on the Annual Performance Report. The ISD’s score of 95 percent reflects the highest academic growth over the last year of any school district in our area. The ISD scored 133 out of 140 points for 95 percent. That is an increase of 21.8 percent in just four years, marking the highest growth of any district in our area and any large district in the state of Missouri.
ISD Superintendent Dr. Dale Herl commented on ISD’s academic achievement, “Our students continue to improve academically year after year. I’m extremely proud of the hard work of our staff and students. Our APR score of 95 percent is the highest in district history and highlights the focus on rigor and relevance in our classrooms.”
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released the data. The Annual Performance Report combines MAP scores with five performance standards (academic achievement, attendance, college and career readiness, graduation rate and subgroup achievement) to show how districts are meeting state standards.
