American Occupational Therapy Association Field Trip

Independence School District AVID and STEM Academy students were invited to attend The American Occupational Therapy Association 2023 National Convention at the Kansas City Convention Center on Friday, April 21st.  Students met with AOTA members, participated in an OT presentation to learn about practice areas in the profession and visited the exhibit hall to see the equipment used by occupational therapists. This field trip gave students the opportunity to explore a career supported by the curriculum in the ISD STEM Academy.
