ISD announces district administrative changes, three new principals for 2025-26 school year

Mr. Phong Nguyen will serve as the Director of Early Education. He has been the principal of Hanthorn Early Education for five years, and prior to that, worked as an instructional coach for two years in the ISD. He has 11 years of experience in early education. Mr. Nguyen is looking forward to helping lay strong foundational skills that will set students up for educational success long after their time in preschool.

Ms. Yvonne Rito will serve as the ISD Compliance Officer. With nearly 30 years of experience in education across all levels, Ms. Rito has been with the ISD since 2014. She is currently serving as an assistant principal at Truman High School, where she also previously worked as a high school counselor.

Blackburn Elementary
Mr. Roy King III will serve as principal of Blackburn Elementary. Mr. King has 22 years of educational experience, working in multiple roles including paraprofessional, high school art teacher, and assistant principal. He is currently working as an assistant principal at Truman High School. Mr. King is looking forward to this new chapter as a leader in education.

Cassell Park Elementary
Dr. Carey Davis will serve as principal of Cassell Park Elementary. Dr. Davis has 22 years of experience in education, including 18 years as an elementary classroom teacher and 4 years as the assistant principal at Independence Academy. Dr. Davis is excited to connect with the Cassell Park Elementary community and support student success.

William Southern
Ms. Molly Roady will serve as principal of William Southern Elementary. Ms. Roady brings 15 years of teaching experience at the elementary and middle school levels, along with 4 years of administrative experience across several schools in the ISD. Ms. Roady is looking forward to building on the growth and achievements at William Southern.
