ISD + Big Brothers Big Sisters KC donation bins

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City. As part of our commitment to community engagement, giving back, and supporting ISD students, we have placed donation collection bins at five of our schools. 

The ISD will receive 5 cents back per pound of collected donations, and that money will go directly to ISD students and programs!

How you can help:
We invite you to contribute gently used clothing, accessories, shoes, bed and bath items, household goods, and small electrical items. For a full list of items, visit https://donatekc.bbbskc.org/content/acceptableitems. 

Non-acceptable items:
BBQ grills, auto parts/equipment, lawn mowers/weedwackers, cribs and car seats, large appliances, large furniture, mattresses. For a full list of items, visit https://donatekc.bbbskc.org/content/acceptableitems.

Each bin is located in a parking spot in front of the following five schools. If the program is successful in the ISD, we will add bins at additional schools.

4. Nowlin Middle School 2800 S Hardy Avenue, Independence, MO 64052

5. Truman High School 3301 S Noland Road, Independence, MO 64055
