ISD Student Elizabeth Clark Named National Merit Finalist
Truman High School senior Elizabeth Clark has been honored through the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program as a finalist. This is a nationwide academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Only 15,000 students are named finalists out of the 50,000 highest scorers of the SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Clark is heavily involved in academic and extracurricular opportunities at Truman High School, including band, winter guard, Spanish Club and National Honor Society. Clark plans to major in chemical engineering at the University of Texas.
Scholarship winners are selected beginning in March based on academic records, test scores, a high school official’s written recommendation, the student’s activities, demonstration of leadership and the finalist’s essay.
