Chrisman Choir Performs Well at Districts

William Chrisman Choir students had a strong showing at the Solo and Small Ensemble Vocal Music District Contest- earning (I) Exemplary ratings and qualifying the State Solo and Small Ensemble contest in Columbia.

Individually, Chrisman’s overall results from the District event included five (I) Exemplary ratings, 10 (II) Outstanding ratings, five (III) Satisfactory ratings and four (IV) Developing ratings.

Juniors Courtney Calhoun, Anna O’Renick, and Robert Pontalion, along with sophomore Kishon Ho Chee and freshman Jose Mendoza each received the (I) Exemplary rating. In small ensembles, the sextet of Anna O’Renick, Alexandrya Weston, Emily Park, Adriana Tonga, Kaitlyn Rodriguez and Yasmine Hora also received a (I) Exemplary rating and a trip to state.

“I’m happy and excited about state,” Calhoun said.

Earning the (II) Outstanding ratings were Luis Matamoros, Nathan Carvitto, Alexandrya Weston, Emily Park, Karen Chaparro, Kaitlyn Rodriguez, Savanh Malam, Kaitlyn Waage, Devon Pederson, and Dakota Winslow.

Emily Youmans, Harmony Strobel, Bronwyn Miller, Brooek Cottrell and Yasmine Hora each received (III) Satisfactory ratings.

Ashley Carter, Lacy Smith, Alexandria Williams and Angel Edwards each received (IV) Developing ratings.

In small ensembles, the double quartet of Robert Pontalion, Taniela Faletau, Darryl Shaw, Sam Nichols, Kishon Ho Chee, Dakota Kinslow, Jose Mendoza, and Shawn Bunce earned a (II) Outstanding rating as did the sextet of Courtney Calhoun, Bronwyn Miller, Luisa Matamoros Torres, Savanah Malam, Kathleen Hora, and Yasmine Hora. Other (II) ratings were earned by the ensemble of Kaitlyn Waage, Kathleen Hora, Savanah Malam, Karen Willoughby, Karley Cummings, Skyler Corbett, Deja Hinkle, and Alexis Anderson, and the ensemble of Anna O’Renick, Alexandrya Weston, Adriana Tonga, Taniela Faletau, Kishon HoChee, Kaitlyn Rodriguez, Robert Pontalion,and  Jose Mendoza.

The quartet of Tristan Todd, Devon Pederson, Sean Liles, and Dominick Toese received a (III) Satisfactory rating.
